These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Calln ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using Calln, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
đĄ 1. What Calln Is
Calln is a web-based platform that connects two anonymous users for real-time, audio-only voice calls. Calls are peer-to-peer via WebRTC and are not recorded or stored by Calln. The service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice or liability.
đ 2. Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Calln. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly permit minors to use the platform. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately and permanently ban them.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has accessed Calln, please contact us at [email protected] immediately.
â 3. Acceptable Use
You may use Calln to:
- Have lawful, respectful conversations with other users
- Use the text chat, games, and reaction features during calls
- Report users who violate these Terms using the Report button
- Disconnect from any call at any time using the End button
đĢ 4. Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly forbidden and will result in an immediate permanent IP ban:
- Sharing, requesting, or transmitting sexually explicit or pornographic content
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech of any kind
- Sharing content that sexualises or endangers minors â this will be reported to law enforcement
- Impersonating other people, organisations, or Calln staff
- Attempting to record calls without the other user's explicit consent
- Using Calln to solicit money, goods, or personal information from other users
- Transmitting malware, spam, or other malicious content
- Using automated bots, scripts, or tools to interact with the platform
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service
- Any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law
đī¸ 5. Recording Policy
Calln does not record calls. Audio travels directly between users via WebRTC peer-to-peer technology â our servers never receive it.
You must not record any call on Calln without the explicit, informed consent of the other participant. Covert recording of calls is illegal in many jurisdictions and is a violation of these Terms.
đĄī¸ 6. Moderation & Enforcement
Calln relies on user reporting to identify violations. The Report button in the call interface allows you to flag a user for inappropriate behaviour. Upon a report:
- The reported user is immediately disconnected and their IP address is banned for 24 hours
- Repeated or severe violations result in a permanent ban
- In cases involving illegal content, we may cooperate with law enforcement authorities
We reserve the right to terminate access for any user for any reason, at any time, without prior notice or explanation, at our sole discretion.
Šī¸ 7. Intellectual Property
The Calln name, logo, design, and codebase are the intellectual property of Calln. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our prior written consent.
Any content you share during a call (voice, chat messages) remains your own. By using the service, you grant Calln no rights to your content â we do not store it.
â ī¸ 8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Calln is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not control the content of calls between users and are not responsible for anything said or shared during them.
âī¸ 9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Calln and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Calln shall not exceed the greater of $1.00 USD or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is $0.00).
đ¤ 10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Calln and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.
đ 11. Privacy
Your use of Calln is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Calln, you consent to the data practices described there.
đĸ 12. Advertising
Calln displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to fund the service. Ads may appear as banner ads in the footer and as full-screen interstitial ads between calls. By using Calln, you acknowledge and accept the display of these advertisements. For details on how advertising data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
đ 13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Calln after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
đ 14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If negotiation fails, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration.
